Add joy to the upcoming Christmas season with The Salvation Army. Do your part representing Mid Missouri AGA in our community service project by volunteering as a Bell Ringer for an hour or two with a co-member, friend, or family member.

Secure your ringing spot by registering for it. First come, first choice. We are needing at least two people per each one-hour shift for more fun and more joy. Bell ringing starts December 5th at 10 a.m and ends at 2:00 p.m. in the Hy-Vee Jefferson City breezeway.  You can select a one-hour or a two-hour shift!  We have always had a great time and do good collecting for our community.

The Salvation Army, an international Christian organization whose roots are in London, England from the mid 1800’s, began serving the Jefferson City, MO community in 1922.  Yes, this is the 100 year anniversary helping those in need in our local area.  Center of Hope Emergency Homeless Shelter provides bednights throughout the year for those experiencing homelessness.  Center of Hope also provides three free meals 365 days a year to shelter residents and community members who find their cupboards bare.  The Social Services Department provides food orders and rent and utility assistance to those in need as our funding allows. Many children find toys under the Christmas tree from the parents signing up for Christmas assistance.  Children’s youth groups help to build character and social skills while providing craft projects, activities and snacks during weekly meetings coinciding with the school year. Camp Mihaska provides a rich camp experience for many ages each summer. The administrative offices and worship center are located at 927 Jefferson Street.
